Property: Property News - v - Property
Pal
A Northern Ireland property website owned by media company UTV has been ordered to scrap an advertisement, claiming to be
'NI's largest'.
In a ruling from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) the advertisement from PropertyPal.com was deemed to have misled the public, in its claim that it offered 'more choice than anywhere else'.
The ruling was made in response to a complaint from media rival PropertyNews.com, a property website owned by the Belfast Telegraph, Independent News & Media Group.
PropertyNews.com challenged PropertyPal website on three counts pertaining to its ad and the ASA agree that on each of three challenges, the advertising code had been broken.
Despite the ruling that its claim to be Northern Ireland's largest property website, managing director of PropertyPal.com, Errol Maxwell, said: 'We are confident that we are by far the largest property website in Northern Ireland'.
