News: EasyJet Takes Off Again! Low cost airline EasyJet has announced that the service it had moved from Belfast International Airport to Belfast City Airport, will move back again following its trial of the route. With no real benefits to the company, it has now decided that it makes more commercial sense to operate all its flights from the same base at the International Airport, Aldergrove. EasyJet manager Ali Gayward commenting on the move back, said 'Our 20 other routes operate from Belfast International and we will now consolidate our overall operation by re-establishing our Luton flights from there as well'. Editorial It would appear that EasyJet has made up its mind, to purchase a return journey to Belfast Internaional Airport. So, from the 9th May 2011, all EasyJet passengers will once again be departing from the same Belfast Airport. In a move which, one must imagine has delighted one airport and disappointed another, you can't help but think that they may have been a tad premature in announcing their decision and perhaps should have waited until after the
Summer Holidays. However, there must be a more viable commercial case for the airline to operate all flights from the same base, especially as EasyJet has also announced an addition to its Belfast Flights in October, when it plans a new Manchester route.
