Belfast News: Dundonald Gets Fairtrade Village
Status
Dundonald on the outskirts of East Belfast has become the 400th centre to
have been awarded Fairtrade status, and the very first centre in Northern Ireland.
The status was awarded to Dundonald at the start of 2009 and comes after
several years of hard work by the Dundonald Fairtrade Steering Group. Gillian
Graham Chair of the group said: 'I think the award will highlight how important
it is for us as consumers to support producers in developing countries whose
livelihood depends on us purchasing their products on Fairtrade terms'
